They have an IR beam to the inside of them and for the last 10 years if we have wanted to keep the gates open we have just covered one of the IR sensors. However recently the gates have started shutting after the set amount of time even when the IR is covered.
I assumed the IR was faulty but you can hear the relay click if you break the beam, and if you break the beam whilst the gates are closing then they open fully again. I can't see anywhere in the manual for a setting for any sort of IR override so am stumped.
Any ideas what might be the issue?
Thanks
Hi Jim,
If the photocells are working as they should I am not sure why they are reclosing if they are covered, how long after the photocells have been covered does the gate reclose?
An easier way to keep the gates opened without them closing is to give them another command from your remote just before they completely open. This will give the gates a stop command and keep them from closing before another command is given.
