Bft gate one door stopping
#1
Hello.  I have a pair of gates bft. Motors under the  ground.  One of my gates seem to stop mid way.  The other one is fine.if I gently push it.  It will carry on to close or open.  I've checked the motor and it seems dry and not water damaged.  Been in operation for 12 years now.   Am I right in saying it's the motor needs replacing ?  Just got worn out.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Matty,

Thanks for the email,

There are two likely explanations for your issue, one could be if this is a 230v system it could be that the capacitor is on its way out and would likely need replacing, a way of testing this would be to switch over the capacitor and test the motor to see if the fault persists, another plausible issue could be that the motor force on this leaf is not set high enough.

Kind Regards
Joe

Thanks Joe.   It is a 240 system.    I havnt changed the motor force setting and has been the same for  years and has work faultlessly.   I reckon it must be the capacitor.   Many thanks for your help. Matty
