Nice Robus RB600
#1
Hi,
I have a Nice Robus RB600, which has proximity / inductive limit switches, controlling opening/closing stop positions. However I cannot get the sliding gate to learn the 'leaf' length - slow down and stop at the mechanical stops.
The problem is that upon opening/closure the gate smashes into the stops, then jumps back - stops, leaving a gap. It is supposed to be possible to eliminate this unwanted function by selection of the LED's - which I have done but the gate still smashes into the stops. The last time it smashed into the opening stop - and kept the motor running - then stopped and has not worked since. I have checked all the fuses - none are blown?
Is this unit supposed to work in this fashion? or does it it have a fault? I would think it should be able to learn the gate 'leaf' length and be able to slow down to rest at the mechanical stops - leaving no gaps and not jumping back?
I would welcome your advice, as to what to do next?
Regards,
Clive

The reed switch is the electronic stop control for the board. I thought the Robus motors had finger switches, but not ruling it out. unplug the reed switches from the board and check them with a multimeter on ohms, both swiitches should be N/C when the gate is midway, ohm meter should read around 2-4ohms? then test again with the magnets next to the reed switch it should read OL on you meter, basically open circuit. Should be 3 wires, they share the GND/common.
I've known NICE boards to fail on the limit switch circuit, this required a new board, FAAC reed switches have a terrible reliability issue, Nice not so much.
