I've got an Autodor 4410EGC-433 garage door opener which has seen many years of excellent service! I wired up the illuminated push switch which I see is provided with a 20v supply which is simply shorted when you press the switch to activate the opener. More worried about security these days, so bought a cheap RFID door access control panel on Ebay. Problem is, instructions are in Chinglish and there's no wiring diagram :-(. Several connections on the panel like NO, NC, OPEN, D0, D1, etc,. It requires 12v supply, so I've also bought a small step-down voltage converter. Is it possible to connect this panel direct to my door opener so it is activated when an RFID activates the panel? Which connections? Thanks!

Thank you for your enquiry.
Looking through the manual for the Autodor 4410EGC-433, you should have terminals labelled up as 1 and 2 on the back of the unit.
Your RFID Reader, will have connections such as NO and COM and these should wire into the terminals labelled as 1 and 2 on the garage door opener. From there apply voltage to the RFID controller you are using and follow instructions on how to program the tags to it and this should work from here.
Normally Open and Common, is a normally open circuit. The reader will work on the basis of if there is a tag held up to it which is whitelisted it will close the circuit allowing the garage door opener to know it needs to open.

Hi Ben. Thanks for your suggestion. I tried this using the NO and COM connections, but no joy. The Autodor opener provides a voltage across the terminals 1 and 2 to power a light in the push switch, so I wonder if this is affecting my RFID panel to work properly? Without any load it's over 30v between these terminals. When connected to the RFID panel it drops to around 10v. The panel responds to a tag being offered up, i.e. there's an audible 'click' and the green light comes on, but the opener doesn't energise. Any further ideas? Thanks!
