Hi there, I'm a new member to this forum. I bought a house with a BFT electric gate. The mechanism is under the ground. I have a BFT fob that stopped working this morning. The red light still flashes when I press the button so I took the cover off the control unit and it says STOP. Not quite sure what to do. Doesn't help that I've no manual release key but I've gone and ordered one now so at least I can open and close the gate when it attives. I've attached a photo if anyone has any ideas. Thanks!

Hi,

When a BFT control panel has the 'STOP' message on the display this is usually caused with a safety accessory. More specifically I would say this would be down to the STOP terminals which are 70 & 71. From the looks of the image you have sent, it seems that you have no accessories wired into this terminal but a link instead which is how it should be when devices aren't being used. Just make sure that this link has a secure connection between terminal 70 & 71.

If it is not this, it could be any of the normally closed (N.C) terminals not having a secure link to common, or possible any safety devices may be triggering this like photocells. But usually with photocells you will have a different error message on the display in regard to photocell instead of just STOP.

Many Thanks.

Aiden.

Hi Aiden thanks very much for your reply. On closer inspection, terminal 71 was loose. Securing it properly has made the STOP message go away and all good now. Thanks a lot!
