I have DEA Control board driving Liftmaster sub 300/250 motors and for over 4 years all has been good. This Wednesday one side did not open when using the zapper so opened it manually. I then had a look at gate sensors and cleaned them ie the outside. Then looked at motor on faulty side and it was full of cobwebs ect. Cleaned that out and closed side manually. Then used power switch on wall and both opened!! Tried handheld remote one side opened. Opened with phone and so on.
Today I looked at other motor and gate stop was sheared off. It sheared off on the other side ages ago so I put a big piece of metal to act as gate stop and worked.
My query is why would both gate stops sheer off and what could be the cause of the intermittent behaviour!! I have 2 pieces of metal as as stop gap(sorry) gate stops and some small play in the gates.
I'm stumped. Motors are 8 years and 4 years, fault is side with 4 year motor and its an IDRO ie liftmaster equivalent.
