The foundation boxes for our Nice gate sytstem have failed on both sides of our gates. As can be seen in the pics, the 'pin' that the bottom hinge rides on has completely parted company from the structure of the box presumably due to the weight of the gates?
They're about 13 years old and guessing we really need something a bit beefier but fixing these or replacing with the same is the simplest solution and if we can get another 13 years from them they'll probably outlast us!
Is it worth trying to re-weld the pins into place or do I need to start from scratch with new foundation boxes? If the latter do I need to smash out the old concrete or will it be possible to lift the box and remount the new one in the same hole?
