FAAC foundation plate
#1
Hi

I'm looking at getting a FAAC 740 for our sliding gate. The installation manual suggests pouring cement into the foundation and allowing the cement to set with the foundation plate bolts in position, but our driveway is already entirely concreted. Doe anyone know if there are ways to bolt the foundation plate down instead? It's not clear from the manual if the provided bolts can be fastened into concrete.

In fact, I'm not sure what the purpose of the foundation plate is when the motor is designed to be held up by the 4 bolts (and their nuts and washers). The plate seems to act like nothing more than a template for placing the bolts.

Any thought appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I hope you are well. The foundation plate is needed to secure the actual motor to the ground. The plate will be cemented into the ground which will make it secure, the motor above will then be bolted to this. You will need the cement method to ensure stability of the motor in operation. I would only advise to install as per the manufacturers instructions, as you will void the warranty of the kit if you do not follow them.

Kind regards
- Jamie
