BFT sub 24 pivot oil
#1
Hello - I am about to set about the installation of a pair of BFT sub 24v underground motors.  Looking at the manual (see attached pic)  it shows the bottom pivot being filled with oil.  I assume this is meant to be the same as the hydraulic oil in the motors as this is the only oil mentioned anywhere in the manual  - however would be interested to hear from anyone else who has installed this and whether this is the right thing or whether it should be some sort of grease on the collar instead.

Thanks
Tim

Hi,

I believe this oil is for the Ring bracket as such as it is metal on metal which evidently will cause friction.

This will most likely be used to lubricate this joint.

Thanks for your reply - I agree that it is likely to lubricate the ring bracket - would you expect this to the same hydraulic oil as for the motors, or some other type?

Thanks
Tim

Hi,

It will be the same oil as the hydraulic motors.

Hi,

You would be able to get this from BFT FYI.
