BFT Icaro Wiring, photocells, safety edge - markeymark - 30-09-2011

Hi i am new to this site, and new to gate motor installation.

I am finding it hard to get the photocells to work correct. I dont know if I am wiring incorrect? Power is to 10/14, common is to 21 and NC is to 24.
I also need to wire a second set of photocells and need help with this also.

I have not looked at the safety edge yet but if anyone could give details of the connections this will need to go to on the Icaro panel.

Many Thanks for any help.

The Photocell connections on the Bft Icaro are correct and multiple photocells will need to be wired in series on that system as it only has 1 x Photocell input and they should be relay type photocells.

With Regards to the Saftey If you are unsure then please check with BFT themselves as they would be able to advise correctly what is needed to make that motor comply with EN regulations.

Icaro is not the best one for upgrades of safety devices. There is even no photocell test function available. Either you have to connect safety rib controller in to the photocell terminal (which is not the best solution!) or I would go (and recommend) with replacement panel. Rigel 5 would do the job, but has to be installed in separate enclosure and you have to re-wire installation.
