no power - Guest - 01-04-2009

Hi,

My electric gates were opened and programmed to stay open.
Unfortunately when the code was entered to shut the gates nothing happened and now the gates do not respond to any code.
Checked the trip switch which is fine. There is power to the circuit board yet obviously a problem with power to the gates, any suggestions why this would occur.
Thanks

Hello Guest,

The problem could be something as simple as something in the way of the photocells/or photocells have developed a fault, the gate will not close if it thinks there is something in the way. Try manual releasing the gates back to the closed position, turn the power off to the gates, turn powr back on after say 10 seconds. Pulse the gates to open again, if they open you know there is a fault on the safety cells, (Allthough this may not happen as some control boards have obstacle detection meaning the leafs wont open if something is wrong with the safety input)

hope that makes sense to you,

regards, Carl
