SUB300, CB11 Photocells problem - oldsparky - 19-11-2008

Hi All.

Im in the process of tackiling my 1st install of automatic gates, im an electrician and have been asked over the years about installing gates, but i always walked away leaving it to the professionals. But now im feeling brave and have taken on my 1st job, with another 3 in the pipeline. Ive have installed all as according to instructions, but im having a problem with the photocells, the LEDs on the cells are flashing, 1st they werent on and i discovered this was a polarity problem and fixed, now they are flashing, this according to instructions indicates that the photocell disables the control board, i have my 2 cells connected into terminals 24 & 22, i have tried resetting several times but cant get them to remain constant. i have the gates set up and they are opening and closing fine with the key fob,but nothing happens when i cover the photocells either when gates or closing or opening, both cells are mounted at same height and directly opposite each other on piers.
Would appreciate any help on solving this problem.
Thanks.
Paul.
PS could you recommend a good coded/audio intercom to work in con junction with the CB11.

First of all the photocells may have been damaged by wiring them backwards.

The CB11 is a very advanced and failsafe circuit board which means that everytime you change anything on the saftey circuits it need to reboot and learn what you have done.

You need to make your connections and line up the cells then put the Jumper - JMP1 or marked up as Save Failsafe Photocells put the jumper across the 2 pins. The Turn off the power to the system for 10 seconds , Turn the power back on and wait 10 seconds , Now Remove the jumper after 10 -15 seconds the board will click very faintly and you will be left with 1 x green stop light and 2 x flashing red lights . This is normal the flashing red lights are to warn you nothing is in the other 2 saftey circuits this is fine and how it should work now try the system and when closing the photcells should either stop or reverse the gates dependant on how you have set the switches..
