Father in law recently purchased a new property and has asked me to look into his gate not working. When the buttons on the remote are pressed nothing happens. When I bridge the open terminals I can hear a relay on the board click (motors disengaged during testing as I didn’t have a key to reengage them)
Indicator light A is flashing one flash per second
All other indicators are off including indicator b which has nothing terminated to it

Any ideas?

Cheers
Hi Sam,

This sounds to me that the system appears ok as the EBUS is flashing once per second and when the shorting the OPEN you can hear the relay click. you will need to re-engage the motors and short the OPEN again. how many remotes do you have?

Regards
Mike
Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. Just the one remote, the lights on the remote are illuminating when pressed so I’m thinking the battery is fine, I also tried to re-teach the remote but the system doesn’t respond when I go through the steps to add a remote. I’m wondering if possibly the antenna is faulty I might just terminate a bit of cable to test it next time I’m out there

Hi,

Thanks for the email,

when pressing the remote control does the LED on the radio receiver illuminate? if you are using an Mhouse system or Nice home system this will be the LED next to P1, it may be due to a faulty radio receiver which can be rectified by retrofitting a standalone radio receiver.

Many Thanks
Joe
Hi Sam,

It could be a faulty remote. how old is the system?

Mike
