Hi there,

In a desperate attempt to avoid forking out £150 for a replacement board, which might not even fix the problem, I'm wondering if anyone can possibly help!

After years of service, and a few niggles, I'm getting the 'N1' motor 1 error. I've already tried the following:
1) Checked the circuit board for any visible signs of corrosion, damp, short circuits, or fried components - None
2) Checked all the wiring into, and out of, the control unit, and to the motors - Looks fine
3) Checked and tightened up all the wiring into the terminal blocks - Checks out
4) Checked the torque settings on the motors - Both maxed
5) Switched it to single motor operation, and tested the motors individually (i.e. just 13/14/15, and then plugging 16/17/18 in the 13/14/15) - It carries on saying 'N1' in both cases.

I can hear the switch/solenoid/motor coming on for a fraction of a second, but then it immediately stops.

Given swapping the motors over made no difference, it seems unlikely to me that both motors have failed at the same time. And, by the same logic, the capacitors are unlikely to be the problem. My current theory is that there is a problem with the board itself, and if so, I'll need to replace it.

Any suggestions would be fantastic!

Many thanks - I know it's old kit, but it still sad when it's beyond repair.

Update - changed the motherboard (kept the capacitors), and it’s now fixed!

Happy to pay £150 for that.
