I have a bft Phobos/Thalia L 24v single gate kit using a pair of SEAV 2241 photocells. All works fine except occasionally if I want to open the gate first thing in the morning it won't open, if I stand between the photocells and break the beam it will open as normal but as soon as I move it stops. Later in the day it will sort itself and work as normal.
Hi,

so essentially you are using your photocells as a means to open your gates am i correct in saying this?
Thanks for your reply. I'm using a keypad and remote to open the gate, the photocells are there to stop the gate closing when there is an obstacle (ie a car) in the way. Most of the time they work fine but occasionally they seem to work in reverse so the gate will only open when the beam is broken.
So, for anyone that has this problem on the future, it was the glare from the morning sun blinding the photocell. Hopefully a guard over the sensor will fix the problem ?

Hi,

The guard should fix the problem.

If the problem still occurs, we recommend trying some move-able photocells that can be moved into different angles to avoid direct sunlight causing a problem.
