Wondered if anyone could advise if the current layout of my driveway gates and gate posts make fitting an electric system feasible?
As the entrance from the main road is wider than the driveway itself, the original owner constructed the concrete gate posts at approximately 45deg to the straight driveway itself. The double leaf solid wood gates open inwards, and the hinges are mounted close to the main-road side of the gate pillars.
The concrete posts are large (about 400m x 400mm), so I assume that mounting motors on the back of the pillars would not be possible (given the 35-45deg angle of the posts in respect to the drive, as well as the size of the pillars themselves)?
I'm told that the first owner of the property did have electric gates installed, though I can see not evidence of how they were mounted.

Thanks
