Hello,

Recently my LYN300 gates stopped opening.

Upon trying to reset the limits, gate 2 opens and closes with no problem. Gate 1 however doesn't move, and the diagnostic light flashes 6 times.

All the fueses look fine, and there are no red lights on the photo cell sensor. I have tried repositioning the "Force" switch but to no avail.

I've looked in the manual and there is mention that this could be something to do with "Force Reversal"? But I don't know what that means.

Is there anything that I can try?

Could this be a problem with the board or motor?

Would it be worth swapping the motors around on the board?

Any suggestions about what to do would be very welcome!

Many thanks,

Jeff.
The 6 Flashes is a ' Force Reversal ' either the gate is hitting something or the rpm sensor in the motor arm has burnt out.

When programming the limits if this arm will only move about an inch when you press the button then that is a RPM sensor problem eitht he cables are broke or they have been shorted which will Blow the sensor which is built into the winding of the electric motor. Unfortunatly the only soloutions is to buy a replacement arm as this would not be covered by Liftmaster Warranty.

All i can say is check the cables or replace the cabl;e and re try the limit programming.
Hi Mark,

Thank you for your reply. I will check the cables for continuty etc, and then try and re-program the limits.

In the mean time, is it possible to buy replacement arms? (Just in case)

Also, these are quite heavy gates, Dimensions 1.7m wide x 1.75m tall, I am wondering if it might be worth considering the 'upgrade route'. Would it be possible to swap out the lyn 300's with something a bit meatier?

Many thanks,

Jeff.

The Liftmnaster LYN Series is Now Discontinued but we still have a little stock of replacement arms. There is NO upgrade solution that would use the same control panel to upgrade to a more heavy duty motor you would need to replace the whole kit or system for something like Nice Toona Kit 3
