Failed program attempt
#1
Hi Folks.
I apologise for this missive being long winded, but I have done a lot of trying, so I wanted get everything down.

I would very much appreciate it if someone could help me fix my problem.

I have just purchased a house which has an electric gate open / closing arrangement.

The actuator arm is a DITEC LUXO ENTREMATIC 5BH. See photos
However the control card is not DITEC. It is a RIB T2-CRX Automatic control board (code ABT2000)

It took quite a lot of research to get those facts straight.

Photos of the installation here:-

In accordance with the instructions in the RIB T2 CRX control card manual.
Which can be downloaded here:-

I attempted the following setup operations.
PAGE 23 Point C - MOTOR ROTATION CHECK
This went 100% OK. The gate opened and closed exactly as printed in the procedure.
However, the ambient light was really too much to observe green and red LEDs when opening and closing. They are not really bright enough for bright sunlight.
I don't know how important these LEDs are provided that the gate is doing its stuff.

Then I went to:-
PAGE 24 Point E - PROGRAMMING FOR 1 MOTOR
I did this procedure precisely as printed, making sure the jumpers and DIP switches mentioned were all in the right position.
However many times I attempted though, I could not complete the procedure.
The gate would start from closed and open OK and then stop in the place stipulated by the second press of the PROG button.
However, STEP 5 and onwards of the procedure could not be completed because upon pressing the PROG button to close the gate again, the gate motor does in fact restart but once again in the OPENING direction. The DITEC actuator then opens to the full extent of its scope and then exits the procedure. That is to say LED DL1 stops flashing and is off as if the gate had closed successfully.
Both procedures can be watched on YOUTUBE here:- (If you can stay awake)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DqwickLpDc

But these are for TWO gates, whereas I only have one.
I am encouraged that I have been able to prove that the control system is in fact capable of making the gate open or close by successful completion of the rotation check.

I am however, baffled as to why I cannot complete the programming procedure.
The only possible issues that I can think of are:-
1. The photos cells are dirty making the system think that there is an obstruction. So I cleaned them. No change.
2. The DITEC LUXO ENTREMATIC 5BH does not appear on the list of motors on page 23. Each motor mentioned there has a configuration of the DIP switches 14, 15 and 16. Therefore I cannot ascertain whether these DIP switches are correct.

JP 17 is open as for a single motor.

Any help guys would be so much appreciated.

All the best

DL7 [status of PHOTO NC] and DL8 [status of EDGE NC] should be constantly ON for the duration of 'POINT E'

You should jumper (short-circuit) [PHOTO NC] & [COM] if DL7 stays OFF and/or [EDGE NC] & [COM] if DL7 stays OFF and see if 'POINT E' proceeds as expected. After finishing programming, you should find the cause of the problem and fix it.

You can use pieces of wire to connect the 2 contacts of each of the 2 contact pairs above, leaving in place any existing wires (so you don't mess anything up) and remove those wires when you are done (restoring everything to its current status).

IF DL7 is always OFF then, as you guessed, the safety photocells are the problem.

- Safety photocells:
- No obstacle: DL7 -> ON
- Obstacle: DL7 -> OFF
- Safety edge:
- No obstacle: DL8 -> ON
- Obstacle: DL8 -> OFF

I'd set DIP14, DIP15 and DIP16 to OFF
