FAAC gates help - code change from previous owners - trekkerglenn - 03-11-2022

Hi all,

Brand new here!

I've recently moved into a new property with already installed FAAC double gates, they work great BUT the other night I found the previous owner on my driveway (inside the gates) as they were coming to collect some old bits but rather than wait for me to arrive they used the gate code to allow entry

This has freaked me out a little and I now want to change the code on the gates for our new ownership, I a) have no clue how to do this and b) am worried it'll mess with the 'you can ring the gates from your mobile to open them' function too?

I've been told by the PO that there's a sim card inside the gates and this needs topping up for the mobile function to work, usually a £10 top up lasts 2-3 months?? again no idea if this can be brought into this decade as it seems a bit faffy to have to remove a sim and top it up every quarter?

Hopefully someone can offer a noob some help and advice

Many thanks

Glenn

can solve the last part buy a new sim and you can top it up online no need to remove it. Or find out the old sim supplier and do that online. You can also reset the board back to factory settings it should tell you in the manual how to do this or download one. Just follow the instructions and it should be like a new install or you could use the old code to enter a new one if you got the manual
I had the same problem, and this is how i solved it. you will need to erase all the previous tel numbers from the system any way they will all still have access if it works the same as mine

Hope this helps

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry,

Could you verify what dial to open system that you have on your FAAC System, if you were to find out where your GSM dial to open device is located (Usually in a IP rated box) we can hopefully open it up and identify which one you have and advise you accordingly.

Many thanks

Ben
