Proteco Q60S/R - Install probs?? - jadeella1 - 03-07-2012

All very new to this - we have just had a Proteco Q60S/R sliding gate installation fitted running a 20 foot gate. This is on our farm to try and prevent the recent spate of thefts!!

The gate was built by our fitter (all good) and installed by a qualified sparky.

On leaving the farm tonight - I noticed that if I press the keyfob to open wait for the gate to open about 12 foot and drive through with the truck - the sensors pick up motion stop the gate dead and then they will not re-energise until the button is pressed again! This cannot be right as delivery drivers will do exactly the same and be gone in the distance leaving the gate wide open!

Spoke to electrician and he says their are no options on the programming for this - surely not right??

Thanks in advance

Hi

We sell the Q60S/R with our sliding gate automation (Kit Roller 8 & 15). From reading your post it sounds like the photocells are tripping, but only when the gate is opening. This is what is called the Opening Cycle or Phase. More than often the photocells are wired in the Closing Cycle, this is where the gates open then close but the photocell beam is broken and the gates stop and reverse. It sounds like the photocells are wired in the Opening Cycle.

To check - on the control board the terminals are numbered 1 to 20. If the photocells are wired in the opening cycle I would expect to see a cable going to the photocell receiver out of terminal 4 and a link present between terminals 3 & 9. If this is the case, we can configure the photocells to the closing cycle by moving the cable from terminal 4 to terminal 3 and place link between terminal 4 & 9.
